Electric Yellow Cichlid (Labidochromis caeruleus)

At Paws and Claws Manawatu, Electric Yellow Cichlids are one of the most popular African cichlids thanks to their bright colour and comparatively calmer temperament.

Famous for their vivid yellow bodies with contrasting black fin edging, Electric Yellows bring eye-catching colour to any Malawi aquarium. Compared to many mbuna, they are less aggressive, making them a great choice for mixed African cichlid setups when stocked correctly.

Electric Yellow Cichlids thrive in hard, alkaline water with plenty of rockwork and hiding spaces. They are hardy, active fish that do best in cichlid-only tanks with similarly sized and tempered species.
