Frontosa Cichlid

Frontosa Cichlid is a majestic African cichlid species from Lake Tanganyika, admired for its bold black and white banding, graceful fins, and distinctive forehead hump that becomes more pronounced with age. Known as one of the most iconic Rift Lake fish, Frontosas make an impressive centrepiece in large aquariums.

Despite their size and powerful appearance, Frontosas are generally calm for a cichlid when kept with suitable tank mates. They thrive in spacious aquariums with rocky caves, open swimming areas, and excellent water quality. Their slow, confident swimming style and intelligent behaviour make them a favourite among serious fish keepers.

These fish are best housed with other larger, peaceful African cichlids and should not be mixed with very small fish, as they are natural predators.
