If we have to order your fish in, this may not leave until the following week.

If your order contains any dried products such as food, spare parts or medications etc.

Your order will be shipped out on the above days as your live fish (Mon-Wed).

The Jewel Cichlid is a striking freshwater fish renowned for its brilliant red body and shimmering blue-green spots. Full of personality and confidence, these African cichlids make a stunning centrepiece in the right aquarium.

Care Level: Moderate
Adult Size: Up to 12–15cm
Temperament: Semi-aggressive to aggressive, especially when breeding
Tank Size: 150L+ recommended
Diet: High-quality cichlid pellets, frozen foods, live foods, and occasional vegetable matter
Water Parameters: 24–28°C, pH 6.5–7.8

Jewel Cichlids thrive in well-filtered aquariums with plenty of rocks, caves, and territories to explore. They are intelligent, active fish that can become highly territorial, particularly during breeding, so careful selection of tank mates is important. They are best kept with other robust species of a similar size and temperament.

One of the most rewarding aspects of keeping Jewel Cichlids is watching their breeding behaviour. They form devoted pairs, carefully guard their eggs, and provide exceptional parental care for their fry.
