The Marble Hatchet Fish is a unique and elegant freshwater species, instantly recognisable by its distinctive hatchet-shaped body and intricate marbled patterning. As a peaceful surface-dwelling fish, it brings constant movement and interest to the upper levels of a community aquarium.

Marble Hatchet Fish thrive when kept in schools of six or more and are best suited to mature, well-planted aquariums with gentle water flow and subdued lighting. Floating plants can help them feel secure while also replicating their natural habitat. As they are exceptional jumpers, a tightly fitting lid is essential to prevent escapes.
